This unit equips students with the skills to create simple workplace documentation, including forms, emails, and other routine written communication, enhancing workplace literacy.
FSKOCM003 – Participate in familiar spoken interactions at work
This unit develops students’ confidence and competence in everyday workplace communication, including speaking with colleagues, supervisors, and customers in routine situations.
SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety
This unit develops the skills and knowledge required to follow personal hygiene and workplace food safety procedures to prevent contamination and food-borne illness in hospitality and catering environments, in line with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food.

Learners must have the necessary language, literacy and numeracy skills to interpret and apply relevant information to commence learning in this program. Learners will be required to undergo a pre-enrolment assessment to determine their Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) capability. This test aligns with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) which describes the outcomes of foundational skills relevant to the level of this program.
