FSKLRG007 – Use strategies to identify job opportunities
This unit develops learners’ ability to identify employment pathways and job opportunities in the hospitality industry. It supports students in planning and preparing for entry-level roles. No licensing or certification is required.
FSKWTG006 – Write simple workplace information
This unit equips students with the skills to create simple workplace documentation, including forms, emails, and other routine written communication, enhancing workplace literacy. No licensing or certification is required.
FSKOCM003 – Participate in familiar spoken interactions at work
This unit develops students’ confidence and competence in everyday workplace communication, including speaking with colleagues, supervisors, and customers in routine situations. No licensing or certification is required.
SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA)
This unit applies to all personnel involved in selling, serving, or supplying alcohol in venues such as hospitality outlets, packaged liquor stores, wineries, breweries, and distilleries, including tastings. It provides the skills and knowledge to deliver responsible alcohol service in line with state and territory liquor laws. Certification requirements vary by jurisdiction, and may include licensees and security staff; some states require a bridging course to meet local regulations.
SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services
This unit applies to all hospitality personnel involved in wagering (racing and sport) and gaming (machines, table games, Keno, and lotteries) in venues such as hotels, clubs, pubs, casinos, and TAB outlets, including licensees, gaming supervisors, managers, and frontline staff working under supervision. It provides the skills and knowledge to deliver responsible gambling services and support customers at risk of harm, ensuring staff operate within organisational procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry codes of conduct. Certification requirements vary across states and territories and may be referred to as Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG), Responsible Service of Gaming, or Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG).
SITXCCS011 – Interact with customers
This unit equips students with fundamental customer service skills, including greeting and assisting customers, responding to routine enquiries, and handling simple service situations. It is designed for frontline hospitality personnel operating under supervision. No licensing or certification is required.

Learners must have the necessary language, literacy and numeracy skills to interpret and apply relevant information to commence learning in this program. Learners will be required to undergo a pre-enrolment assessment to determine their Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) capability. This test aligns with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) which describes the outcomes of foundational skills relevant to the level of this program. The outcomes of this assessment will indicate whether a learner is suitable for the course or whether they require additional educational and support services, reasonable adjustment or referral to other training or services.
